That was my idea!!!

posted Sat, 10/14/06

Well, while surfing around, I decided to check out Michelle Malkin's site. The article at the top of the blog was on a 2007 calendar which features buff Recon Marines posing topless. btw, in case Domestic-6 is reading this, she has my blessing to purchase this calendar- it's for a good cause, and I will not likely extend this offer to her again. Anyway, the idea is that some of the proceeds goes to benefit the wounded and their families.

This was my idea.

...except for the charity part of it. You see, it may come as a shock to some people who see my 250lbs. butt that there was a time when I was in really good shape. yup, there was a time when I was 6"1" could fit into UDT shorts with a 34" waist, and tipped the scales at about 215lbs, of which only 6.1% was fat (I had it checked). I was "215 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal." There were a few other Marines in my company (weapons, 3/4) who also spent a fair bit of time at the gym polishing their guns. Well, Cpl F___ from dragons platoon and myself came up with this idea. The kind of idea that only grunt Marines could think is brilliant. We could supplement our income by making, printing, and selling a "boys of weapons company" calendar. It also might help us get dates in southern California. The idea got fairly far along in it's planning. The challenge was coming up with the costumes. I mean, it wouldn't work if everyone was in UDT or PT shorts, right? Anyway, we started to recruit Marines who would be interested in it, and were getting an adequate roster when the command got a whiff of our plans. Veeeery shortly thereafter, we found ourselves pulled aside by the first sergeant who made it clear to us in no uncertain terms that we, and our bodies were Marine Corps property, and that if this particular scheme we had hatched progressed any further, we would soon find ourselves on the short end of a long shit list.

Well, as one can imagine, that particular idea instantly withered on the vine. *sigh* It sure would have been nice to have had that calendar now, just so that people would believe me when I start saying "I used to..."

Alright, enough reminiscing about youthful indescretion
